VIERNULVIER is looking for an evening supervisor hospitality (35h)

Every year, Arts Centre VIERNULVIER welcomes 315,000 visitors to events including theatre, debates, concerts, talks, performances, dance, nightlife and literature. The VIERNULVIER Café, housed within De Vooruit, serves as a central meeting spot. VIERNULVIER presents its programme both inside and outside De Vooruit.

Profile

The VIERNULVIER Café is the beating heart of our house and a special place where there is something to experience every day. In our arts center, creation, presentation, and reflection take place with a social commitment. We carry this through to the Café, where the kitchen also operates according to the LEF principle. Local, ecological, and fair trade.

To strengthen the hospitality team, we are looking for an evening supervisor hospitality. Do you have a passion for hospitality and want to be part of our house? We are incredibly curious about your talent and how you can contribute to our story.

Who do we want to meet?

As the evening supervisor hospitality, you lead from the heart of the team. You are the bridge between the bar team of permanent and temporary staff and the coordination. You are not just the executor of plans; you are an active partner who helps determine café policy and ensures its healthy operation.

What will you do daily?

  • Coaching leadership on the floor: You guide the team in a way that is both connecting and result-oriented. You are actively involved in the recruitment, welcoming, training, coaching, and evaluation of permanent and temporary staff.
  • You will also work behind the bar for about 30 hours and be a role model for accuracy and hospitality.
  • Policy & Strategy: In close consultation with the day supervisor hospitality and the café coordinator, you help determine the direction of the café. Your insights from the floor form the basis for decisions about offerings, infrastructure, and staff.
  • Financial Management & Efficiency: You bear significant responsibility for financial flows. You check cash registers, manage cash flows, and report accurately. You actively think about profitable planning and continuously seek efficient working methods to optimise operations.
  • Quality Control: You are the guardian of our standards. You ensure uniformity in service and procedures so that every guest, regardless of the time, receives the same quality VIERNULVIER experience.
  • Innovation from the team: You are the antenna of the team. You pick up creative ideas from colleagues and develop them into concrete plans that enhance the atmosphere and profitability. You also handle events and receptions in the café.

Who are you?

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing a team.
  • Analytical and hospitality-minded: You have experience in the hospitality sector and understand the logic behind inventory management, labor costs, and profitability.
  • Role model: As a leader, you set an example in work ethic and adherence to agreements.
  • Attention to detail: You work accurately, whether it’s about pouring drinks, handling cash, or adhering to safety regulations. You see uniform procedures not as a burden but as a means to guarantee quality. Hospitality is second nature to you.
  • Decisive and organised: You can quickly switch gears when problems arise and take responsibility for leading team meetings and creating profitable and efficient planning and workflow.
  • Connecting ability: You are communicatively strong and proactively share information with your team and supervisors. You know how to detect people's strengths and deploy them in the right way.
  • Flexibility and availability: Your task is to ensure that your team's operations run as smoothly as possible. If there are unexpected situations on the work floor or if something changes in the planning ad hoc, you are the point of contact to resolve this.

What can we offer you?

  • A permanent contract (35 hours).
  • A varied job in a dynamic cultural environment with great colleagues.
  • An open working atmosphere with room for initiative and personal growth.
  • A flexible and sustainable context.
  • Compensation according to PC 302 and relevant hospitality experience.
  • Extra-legal benefits such as bicycle allowance, meal vouchers, phone subscription, laptop, hospitalization insurance, etc.

How do you apply?

Please send us your CV and a covering letter (this can be a written letter or a short video) by 15 July 2026 at the latest to vacature_avondverantwoordelijkehoreca@viernulvier.gent
