Sharing members and good times with bands like Terraformer and Ilydaen, Grand Aquila are one of the most promising names in the Belgian metal scene. The quartet might be a new name in the scene but are not new to rocking stages and blowing minds! On the contrary, they already own the stage with the confidence of veterans! The band released their debut record “Vestiges” via dunk!records this year; a fiery showing of roaring post-metal and suffocating dark ambiance alternating head-banging climaxes with meditative passages in a cornucopia of styles and influencers.

The band’s atmospheric brand of instrumental music, reflects a rich tapestry of influences, spacing from Amenra-esque heart wrenching moments to Russian Circles-ish sonic triumphs. Independently recorded between 2021 and 2022 with Tobias Stieler of Kokomo fame, “Vestiges” showcases the band’s commitment to crafting expansive soundscapes and creating a dark ambiance while subtly hinting at hope, even via unconventional means.
