SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT
SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT is a collaboration between Vooruit, CAMPO, NTGent, Gouvernement, Black Speaks Back i.s.m. the Africa Platform of the Ghent University and Africalia. The festival is a programme of multi-disciplinary projects featuring music, talks, parties, dance, theatre and performance creations developed in Ghent and a fine selection of international arts projects making their local and international débuts.
The festival aims to explore global questions of colonisation and decolonisation, identity and geopolitical economics from different perspectives and various regions of the world, focusing on the interrelativity of Europe and the so-called Global South. The festival focuses on the complexities generated by the collaboration between Belgian institutions and artists/partners from the Global South, with a particular attention to the African continent.
