Polarization. A term we hear everywhere, often with a negative connotation. But is division always bad?
Polarization is a constant in history. It creates groups, but it can also be the engine that drives necessary change and brings important issues to the political and social agenda. It challenges us to take a stance and can spur action. But how do we distinguish healthy friction from destructive division?
On Tuesday November 4, we will discuss the power and dangers of polarization during our debate series The Arena. We will do so with philosopher Jean Paul Van Bendegem, imam/educator Khalid Benhaddou, Minister of Asylum and Migration, Social Integration and Urban Policy Anneleen Van Bossuyt (N-VA), and editior at Doorbraak Roan Asselman.
Lisbeth Imbo will be guiding the conversation. At the end, there will be a Q&A with the audience.
