Berlin-based, American multidisciplinary artist Lyra Pramuk conjures a rare form of devotional music. The vocalist / composer / producer / DJ / performance artist / astrologer merges the limitless potential of the human voice with the magic of technology in collective ritualistic musical experiences.

Meanwhile local up-and-comer Nele De Gussem invites you to her “rave for introverts”, a 360° visual and auditory party, further developing her live experience of debut ‘The Loom of Longing’, and bringing new material. It will be the first time you can witness the visuals by Victor Verhelst in this 360° setting at Club Wintercircus.

About Lyra Pramuk

Lyra Pramuk is a classically trained artist, raised in Berlin’s club scene, compelled by collectivity, spirituality, and care. Her genre-fluid sound, rooted in improvisation, experimental techniques and left-field electronics, has earned acclaim from diverse outlets including Pitchfork, Mixmag, and Vogue.

Freshly released  album Hymnal—a book of transformational worship songs—explores the ecstatic genesis of sacred rituals, expanding the themes of her celebrated 2020 debut Fountain.

Conceptually rich and process-driven, Hymnal is Lyra’s own book of worship songs: for the Earth, the cosmos, and all life-forms, living and dead. Inspired by the natural world and our place within a mysterious universe, the album invites cosmic interconnectivity, unfurling like a mass bloom in time-lapse from sunset to sunrise. It responds to the multiple, intersecting crises of our times – ecological, humanitarian, socio-political, and techno-philosophical. Driven by the role we must play to address and process the feelings that emerge as our home and human rights are taken from us, it calls us to remember music's early, communal roots, and our own agency in the process of our individual and collective transformation.

Sought after in various musical worlds, Lyra has collaborated with the likes of Moses Sumney and Sam Smith in a reimagining of Sylvester’s “You Make Me Feel”, Holly Herndon, Caterina Barbieri, Colin Self, and Ben Frost. As a live performer, she shapes her shows into collective rituals, which she has staged across the globe at Pitchfork Festival London, MoMA PS1, Sonar, Club to Club, and Unsound Adelaide… and Club Wintercircus.

A unique double bill that promises to be both visually stimulating and sonically enthralling; a rave for introverts paired with a holistic book of worship songs, moved by the evocative power of strings across musical traditions.

About Nele De Gussem

Nele De Gussem has delivered a downright sensational solo debut with The Loom of Longing (released 7 February on VIERNULVIER Records): a divinely harmonious universe of mystical pop, psychedelic ambience and pulsating electronics.

After release shows at de Koer, and a passage at Botanique, De Gussem is bringing a new layer to her live performance at Club Wintercircus, benefiting from the venue’s brand new and unique 360° visual capacities

Reshaping and deconstructing the material from The Loom of Longing, while already slipping into a new chapter, a “Rave for the Introverted” is born. Musically and visually experimental in nature, simple & tender yet incentive, immersive, inviting. Nele De Gussem is ready for a next chapter in her artistic growth, bringing both material from her debut, as well as new works. A level up from an already elevated project seamlessly combining explosive visuals and party bops for introverts into an all encompassing experience.

Armed with strings, laptop, and a lyric-selecting slime mold, the Berlin-based composer catapults classical minimalism into the future. It’s a dizzying treatise on the nexus of living beings and technology.
