De Groote Sluitingsprijs Bahamontes

Life goes by quickly, time never stands still, and the race waits for no one.

The living proof? That we are already at our eighth edition of the Groote Sluitingsprijs Bahamontes. And this eighth edition will be one for the history books.

After seven great years in the Gentse Minard, it is time for a new chapter, in the legendary Vooruit. This year, on Saturday, November 1, it will become a packed temple of cycling where we will profess our unfiltered love for the sport.

One evening where master domestiques and team leaders, winners and losers, sprinters and climbers, heroes and heroines from the present and the past will make their appearance to treat you to a full evening tribute to cycling.

Bahamontes as you know it, but on a stage instead of on paper.

Expect heartfelt and penetrating conversations with prominent figures, a few race numbers soaked in the sweat of cyclists (the Bahamontes band is back), a touch of genuine poetry, occasional bursts of laughter and a sprint, numerous surprise guests, and the aroma of grilled sausages and Algipan in the air.

We’ll see each other after the show at the bar, to share a pint or a recovery shake.
