Double folk-bill met Belgische singer-songwriters Sam De Nef & Camille Camille en de Brits-Oegandese Daudi Matsiko.

Sam De Nef and Camille Camille are two unique and talented singer-songwriters from Belgium who share a gift for writing compelling contemporary folk songs. Both have released acclaimed debut albums in recent years and crossed paths on several occasions. Camille appeared in duets on Sam's debut EP and his first album, Sam performed in Camille's live band, each time with deep musical chemistry.

Their first joint EP, due out in November, seemed the logical next step, uniting their talents to make a record of sincere, warm and uncomplicated songs.

Daudi Matsiko

Nottingham-based British-Ugandan singer-songwriter Daudi Matsiko carefully crafts modern yet reverent folk. His deft, melancholy picking reminiscent of Nick Drake is tempered by contemporary percussion and instrumentation. Matsiko's vocals derive their power from their apparent vulnerability. With each song, his confessed lyrics cut to the marrow.

After releasing two independent EPs, 'A Brief Introduction to Failure' (2014) and 'The Lingering Effects of Disconnection' (2015), he toured with GoGo Penguin, Keaton Henson and Portico Quartet and participated in the Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal 2016. In 2023, he released the single "Fool Me As Many Times As You Like," which was supported by Gilles Peterson on Worldwide FM and BBC 6 Music and by Lauren Laverne. The song was included in several Spotify playlists, including The Most Beautiful Songs in the World, The Other list, The Listening Post and Fresh Finds.

After receiving a standing ovation at the latest edition of The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, Matsiko's highly anticipated debut album is expected in early 2024.
