    De Vooruit - Concertzaal

The The Sisters of Mercy  show at De Vooruit on January 25 could not take place due to illness of the singer. We would like to thank everyone present for their patience and understanding. Since the situation only became clear after a long wait, this was anything but obvious. We could not inform the audience earlier because we assumed that the concert would start as planned. Only after the scheduled start time it became clear that the singer was too ill to perform.

We are currently discussing the next steps with the group's management. We will let ticket buyers know as soon as possible what will happen to their tickets.  In case a new date is found, tickets will be rebooked to that new date. In case of final cancellation, refunds will be issued automatically.  In the meantime, we ask for some patience. We will keep you informed. On behalf of the band and the organization, we apologize for any inconvenience.

The Sisters of Mercy was formed in Leeds in 1980 by Andrew Eldritch and Gary Marx. One of the first groups to work with drum computers, they pioneered new wave and gothic music through the post-punk movement. The band colored the 1980s with a series of brilliant classics that became true cult songs. 'Temple of Love,' 'Body and Soul,' 'Alice' and 'No Time To Cry' are just some of their brilliant repertoire.

Although they haven't released a new album in a while, the band still delivers memorable concerts in sold-out venues to delirious audiences. Live, they play older and unreleased material, of course the many classics, but new songs are also regularly heard.
