VIERNULVIER seeks dishwasher/kitchen help

As a dishwasher and kitchen assistant, you are responsible for the washing up, cleaning, and the
tidiness of the kitchen and the café.

The VIERNULVIER Café is the beating heart of our house and a special place where something can be experienced every day. In our arts center, we create, present, and reflect with a social commitment. We carry this through to the Café where we also work in the kitchen according to the LEF principle. Local, ecological, and fair trade. We are looking for temporary support to assist the bar and kitchen team with dishwashing, order, and cleanliness in the café and kitchen.

This is a new position within the hospitality team. After a period of three months, we will review together how the position is going and what the further possibilities are. An extension is certainly possible!

Position

As a dishwasher and kitchen assistant, you are responsible for dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and the café.

What are your main tasks?

  • You are flexibly deployable in both the kitchen and bar. You take on various tasks and jump in where needed, depending on the busyness in the café or kitchen.
  • You start the dishwasher, ensure the necessary supply of soap, rinse, and descaling agents. You regularly check the operation of the dishwasher (hot water, supply of cleaning agents) and regularly change the water in the sinks. After use, you clean the dishwasher, purify filters and sinks.
  • You walk around the café to collect dishes.
  • You dispose of waste and food scraps in trash bins and sort recyclables.
  • You collect and sort the dishes by type (glasses, plates, cups, cutlery, etc.).
  • You take the washed dishes out of the machine, check cleanliness, and place them in the designated area (carts, racks, cabinets); arrange the cutlery; dry the crockery (e.g., glasses, cutlery).
  • During catering for staff and artists, you clear the buffet.
  • You do the dishes from lunch and scrub pots and pans.
  • Together with your colleagues, you close the kitchen, maintain and clean workspaces and installations (scrubbing, sanding, degreasing, disinfecting, etc.); perform various cleaning tasks.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have gained experience in cleaning or as a kitchen helper and/or dishwasher.
  • You enjoy being on the work floor.
  • You don’t like to sit still and enjoy a physical job.
  • You work neatly and take satisfaction from the results of your work.
  • You are willing to work according to a variable schedule between Tuesday and Saturday.
Working between 14:00 and 20:00 is a good match for you. You work an average of 4 days per week.

If you do not yet meet all the requirements but are very eager for this job, do not hesitate and apply. The VIERNULVIER arts center values the diversity of our colleagues, without distinction of gender, religion, skin color, nationality, gender preference, disability, age, or ethnic origin. We strive to be a reflection of the residents of the city - both in our staff and in our visitors. We are curious about your talent and how you can contribute to our story.

What do we offer?

  • A temporary part-time contract of 3 months. This is in the context of evaluating new tasks and job content within our hospitality team. An extension of the contract, after a positive evaluation, is a realistic possibility.
  • Salary according to PC 302 - category III
  • Extra-legal benefits (including meal vouchers and commuting).
  • A flat organizational structure where you can take on multiple roles if you wish. Involvement, transparency, and space for personal initiative in an informal setting are pillars on which we rely. Be sure to check our organisational chart on our website. You will also find our integrity policy and internal fair practice regulations there. Mission and vision | VIERNULVIER
