BEZOEKER IN BEELD: Fleur & Nike
Two friends, one shared passion: books! We spoke with Nike and Fleur after their visit to Uitgelezen, the book programme that they, as avid readers and bookstagrammers, do not want to miss a single edition of.
Nike has been coming for years, Fleur discovered it thanks to the revamped version starting January 2024 and has been a regular visitor since then. “It feels like a book party for nerds like me,” laughs Nike. “There’s more energy and humor in it than before.” Fleur finds the dynamics between the panel members particularly fascinating: “It’s like you’re part of the conversation, a bit like in a book club with friends.”
What makes Uitgelezen so special?
The surprises. “You get to know new books that were totally off your radar,” says Nike. “Fleur adds: “You also discover which panel members have similar tastes. Or not – and then you think: ‘But no, I hadn’t looked at it that way!’”
Their favourite panel members?
For Nike, it’s Angelo Tijssens, and Fleur prefers Melissa Giardina. Fleur adds: “Melissa and Angelo together, that works so well!” Nike nods enthusiastically: “And the recommendations are always a highlight.”
Why would they recommend Uitgelezen?
“It’s a way to break out of your reading bubble,” says Nike. “I often get my book tips from bookstagram and Goodreads, but here you discover titles that you might never have picked up otherwise.” Fleur adds: “Many readers like to stay home on the couch with a book, but here you go out and meet others who love reading just as much.”
Will they come back? “Definitely!” they say in unison.
