Vacancy | VIERNULVIER is looking for coordinator stage tech team (full time)
Position
VIERNULVIER is an arts institution, which translates into a very diverse program, with both a receptive and a production side. The technical team supports this program on a technical level in its own venues and external locations, including Club Wintercircus. To ensure professional stage technology, we want to strengthen our technical team with a driven coordinator.
As the coordinator of the technical team, you ensure that the technical team collaborates effectively. You make sure that each team member can perform their tasks and roles while maintaining an overview and monitoring the workload. You pursue shared responsibility and facilitate an open feedback culture with methods that are maximally horizontal. You ensure that the group comes to solutions and that the values of VIERNULVIER and agreements are adhered to. You create training plans and organize evaluations.
The coordinator of the technical team organizes team meetings and serves as the bridge to other teams within the organization and to partners inside and outside the cultural sector. You are responsible for personnel planning and further build sustainable relationships with freelancers. As a coordinator, you contribute to the policy of VIERNULVIER. You are part of the coordination team and report to the general coordinator.
In addition to this main task, the package can be extended to include one or more of these tasks:
- stage master: you lead (internal and external) stage technicians and are responsible for coordinating technical activities during theater and dance performances, concerts, cross-over projects, and festivals: preparation, setup, teardown, reporting, etc.
- ensure the technical material: coordination of maintenance, rental, leasing, and purchase, follow-up of contacts with suppliers and inspections of stage technical infrastructure; ensure the technical equipment of all venues in De Vooruit in consultation with the infrastructure and building technology team;
- drafting and/or following up on investment plans, investment files, and tender files; monitoring technical (sound, light, video, data,...) innovations within the international arts sector.
Who are we looking for?
- you have experience in leading a team and enjoy doing so
- your leadership style is coaching and you are strongly inclined to work in a horizontal structure
- you are a motivator and your enthusiasm is inspiring
- you work connectively and facilitate where necessary
- you are a good mediator
- you are decisive, maintain an overview, and work in a structured manner
- you have a critical mind and dare to question things
- you can rely on production or stage technical experience
- you have a strong sense of responsibility
- you are a team player but can work perfectly autonomously and make decisions
- you work flexibly: evening work or working during weekends is not a problem
- you have an affinity with the program and the artistic operation of VIERNULVIER
- you speak fluent Dutch. English and French are a plus.
What do we offer?
- a full-time contract (38 hours) of indefinite duration.
- a varied job in a dynamic cultural environment with nice colleagues.
- an open working atmosphere with room for initiative.
- a flexible and sustainable context.
- attractive remuneration supplemented with nice extra-legal benefits.
- internal training and guidance and the possibility of external training related to the job
- A flat organizational structure in which you can take on multiple roles if you wish. Involvement, transparency, and space for personal initiative in an informal setting are pillars we rely on. Take a look at our website for our mission and vision and you will also find our organisational chart and policy plan.

The selection process
- A reading jury, consisting of HR, the general coordinator, a colleague coordinator, several colleagues from the technical team, and a member of the youth panel, evaluates and selects the candidates who best fit the vacancy.
- The first interview will last a maximum of 1 hour. The jury again consists of HR, the general coordinator, one colleague coordinator, a member of the youth panel, and one external jury member.
- After a positive first interview, you will be invited for an assessment + online personality test.
