The Soundtrack
Following their highly acclaimed live score for Donnie Darko, BL!NDMAN returns to Videodroom. This time, they breathe new, terrifying life into Joe LoDuca’s original score for The Evil Dead.
As a contemporary music collective, BL!NDMAN has been at the top of the international music scene for over 35 years. Since its founding in 1988 by Eric Sleichim, the ensemble has thrived on originality, experimentation, and an boundless passion for sound. What began as an unconventional saxophone quartet pushing the boundaries of the instrument has evolved into a rebellious, expert musical research lab.
BL!NDMAN refuses to be boxed in. The collective actively seeks out dialogue with other disciplines, leading to high-profile collaborations with artistic heavyweights like Ivo van Hove and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. Today, the ensemble is a true trendsetter in immersive multimedia performances and live cinematic accompaniment.
Joseph LoDuca
Two-time Emmy Award-winning composer Joseph LoDuca is a master of epic orchestral music for action, fantasy, and horror. His versatile career includes iconic soundtracks for cult classics such as Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead trilogy, as well as hit series like Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and Spartacus. Internationally, he turned heads with his scores for the French films Brotherhood of the Wolf (César nominee) and Saint Ange.
LoDuca grew up in Detroit's vibrant music scene. Starting as a church choirboy, he soon picked up the guitar and spent his teens opening for rock legends like Bob Seger and the MC5. He later dived into jazz, mentored by the masters of Motown. After a musical stint in New York—composing for Saturday Night Live and playing Manhattan jazz clubs—he crossed paths with director Sam Raimi. This led to his score for the horror milestone Evil Dead, launching a brilliant, decades-long career in film music
