A mistress hides in the kitchen and takes inventory. A daughter and mother write to each other, with increasing fervour. A poet's letter misses its mark. An abandoned writer laments her own pen.
In these vivid miniatures and observations, subversive voices meet on stationery, over the telephone, in diary entries, notes and longing cat calls.
The collection will be presented in a festive setting in the presence of publisher Josje Kraamer (Querido), and the evening will be accompanied by poems by poets Hanna De Grave Loyson (BE) and Iduna Paalman (NL). In addition to Sarah de Koning, poet and bookseller Arno Van Vlierberghe will also read from the collection.
These poems are magical! They move between passion and obsession, eroticism and violence; they are turbulent and elusive. I cannot get enough of them.
