Thinkers and speakers come together in our Theater Hall to launch a call for urgent medical and humanitarian aid and sanctions.

More than 52,000 Palestinians have been killed by the brutal violence of the Israeli government. Hospitals and schools are being destroyed, and thousands are suffering from hunger.

Together with various speakers and thinkers, we are calling for urgent aid and sanctions. Support this call by being present in large numbers this coming Tuesday.

Contributors and attendees include: Fatena Al-Ghorra, Tom Lanoye, Dalilla Hermans, Jemma Vercruysse, Ludo Abicht, Eva Sadek, Alain Platel, Arne de Tremerie & Flor van Severen, Henri Heimans, Mingtje Wang, Ahmed S. Saleh, Ghent Coalition for Palestine, Els Hertogen, Ellen de Soete and Simon Gronovski, Nic Balthazar, Liesbet de Kock, Ludo de Brabander, Sarah Neutkens, Katrien Neyt,...

For 19 months, the far-right Israeli government has subjected the Gaza Strip to relentless brutal violence. More than 52,000 Palestinians have been killed, the majority being women and children. Hospitals and schools are systematically attacked and destroyed. On top of that, the Israeli government has been starving the population for over two months. Children, women, and men are dying from hunger in the meantime. Thousands of Palestinian civilians are being held hostage in Israeli detention centers where abuse and torture are rampant. Meanwhile, the colonization of the West Bank and parts of Gaza continues, making any sustainable solution practically impossible.

A few days ago, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu declared: ‘In the coming days, we will re-enter Gaza, with full force, to complete the operation. We are demolishing more and more houses. They have nowhere else to go. The logical result will be that Gazans will desire to migrate from the Gaza Strip.’ This was immediately put into practice, in the form of a new large-scale ground offensive, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries.

This genocide is occurring partly because our governments are looking the other way. Our politicians are behaving complacently, refusing to take decisive action, and are complicit by providing military and political support. It is urgently time for action. Israeli impunity must come to an end. Nothing legitimizes this genocide! The red line has already been crossed far too long ago.

We demand sanctions and urgent medical and humanitarian aid.
Not tomorrow, but today!
