VIERNULVIER is looking for a producer for its residency platform and performing arts projects

Arts Centre VIERNULVIER welcomes 350,000 visitors a year to enjoy theatre, concerts, spoken word, talks, performance art, dance, nightlife and literature, amongst other things. The VIERNULVIER Café, housed in De Vooruit, is the central meeting place. We serve as a welcoming meeting place and a laboratory for artistic development, production, presentation, participation and reflection.

VIERNULVIER is looking for an enthusiastic producer to join the team.

Would you like to grow with us and help shape our story? We are incredibly curious about your unique perspective and the experience you bring to the table.

What does the role involve?

VIERNULVIER’s residency platform acts as a facilitating and guiding force in support of artistic projects. The platform is committed to supporting creators by sharing expertise and resources in business, production, artistic and infrastructural areas. The platform has a particularly broad scope and brings together various artistic disciplines: performing arts, music, nightlife, literature, urban studios – each with their own specific operational realities. From fledgling collectives to well-oiled organisations, from individual artists to established companies. As a producer, you maintain an overview at all times from your bird’s-eye view and make adjustments where necessary.

Working closely with the programme, business and artistic departments, you will contribute ideas on the strategic future and development of the residency programme. Together with the programme coordinator, you will draw up the calendar, ensure the necessary balance between these disciplines within our vibrant venue, and align this with the arts centre’s capacity.

The day-to-day operational management of this is a shared responsibility carried out by the various colleagues within the programme and production team.

This residency programme gives rise to various performing arts projects that require a committed and creative approach to production. You will take charge of the production of these small and large-scale creations, long-term projects, multi-day festivals or specific projects such as 4X4.

Who are you?

  • You have experience (at least 5 years) in coordinating and overseeing the production of artistic creations and projects under the Arts Decree.
    Thanks to this experience, you are able to adapt easily to a changing environment and are equally happy working at the Vooruit as you are in a vibrant urban setting.
  • You feel at home in the performing arts and have a strong affinity with artists, creators and audiences.
  • You have a head for figures and a good grasp of budgeting.
  • You work in a hands-on and flexible manner, keep a cool head when many elements come together, and switch easily between content, planning and execution.
  • You consider it important to be able to contribute ideas and help shape the vision for the residency platform.
  • You have strong organisational skills and work with precision.
  • You are solution-oriented and take the initiative to drive a project forward.
  • You have an open mind, communicate clearly (both internally and externally) and build relationships easily with colleagues, various organisations and partners.
  • You are a team player who enjoys getting stuck in on the work floor.

What can we offer you?

  • A full-time contract (38 hours) of indefinite duration;
    Remuneration in accordance with PC 304, category B, with relevant experience taken into account; Performing Arts Pay Scale
  • A package of fringe benefits (meal vouchers, commuting allowance, hospitalisation insurance, telephone and internet subscription, laptop, etc.)
  • A varied role in a dynamic, cultural environment with great colleagues;
  • An open working atmosphere with scope for initiative;
  • A flat organisational structure where you can take on multiple roles if you wish. Commitment, transparency and scope for personal initiative in an informal setting are the pillars on which we build. You can find out more about how we operate on our website.
  • A place for personal development through both internal and external training and horizontal job expansion.
