Job Opening: Sanitary Maintenance Worker
Arts Centre VIERNULVIER welcomes 350,000 visitors annually for theater, debates, concerts, spoken word, talks, performance, dance, nightlife, and literature. The VIERNULVIER Café, located in De Vooruit, serves as a central meeting hub. VIERNULVIER presents its program both inside and outside of De Vooruit.
The Role
As a Sanitary Maintenance Worker within the Building Management team, your primary focus is the proper maintenance and repair of all sanitary installations and piping.
Depending on your personal background and expertise, you will also assist with tasks such as floor repairs, plasterwork, or welding assignments. Additionally, you respond quickly to defects, perform (emergency) repairs, and act as an all-around technician for various chores in and around the building.
What will you do?
As a member of the building management team, you contribute to the daily technical and sustainable care of the De Vooruit building.
Primary Task: Sanitation
- Perform various repairs on sanitary installations such as toilets, showers, and sinks.
- Responsible for the preventive renewal and repair of water and drainage pipes (often ceiling-mounted).
- Knowledge of press fittings: Since we frequently use press-fit systems, experience with this assembly technique is an essential requirement.
Other Key Tasks: All-round Support & Handyman Work
Together with your building management colleagues, you ensure everything in and around the building remains operational. You are the point of contact for:
- Repairs following events, artistic productions, or rental activities.
- Swiftly resolving acute problems, such as unclogging toilets.
- Basic carpentry and various technical jobs.
- Logistical tasks, such as cleanup work and trips to the recycling center.
Your Extra Expertise as an Added Value
In addition to your plumbing knowledge, we like to make use of your broader technical background. Experience as a tiler is a major asset, but if you have experience in plastering or welding, we will utilize those skills as well:
- Flooring: Repairing loose or broken tiles and performing larger flooring work during renovation projects.
- Plastering: Repairing damage to walls or performing stucco
