After passing through Rock Werchter, Summerlove, Cactusfestival, Suikerrock and Dranouter, the party is far from over. On Thursday 18 and Friday 19 December 2025, the Dutch pop sensation will descend on Ghent for a show that guarantees glitz, self-mockery and banging energy.

Since her breakthrough in 2018 with “Lekker Met De Meiden”, MEROL - aka Merel Baldé - has been sweeping through the pop landscape like a comet. With cheeky, headstrong and direct Dutch-language electro pop, she flawlessly captures the zeitgeist. She sings about sex, feminism and everything around it, wrapped in catchy synthpop that won't let you go.

MEROL, the musical alter ego of Merel Baldé, makes cheeky, tongue-in-cheek Dutch-language electropop that effortlessly combines danceability with sharp social criticism. Since her breakthrough with the hit song ‘Lekker Met De Meiden’ (2018), she has kicked it up a notch on the pop scene in the Netherlands and Belgium. With lyrics about sex, feminism and self-image, she knows how to turn discomfort into empowerment - always wrapped in irresistibly catchy synthpop.

Her second album Naar de Haaien & Weer Terug (2024) received rave reviews thanks to her quirky style and the balance between irony and sincerity. MEROL also impresses live: her shows are glamorous, theatrical and energetic, full of self-mockery, glitz and audience interaction. She performed at Rock Werchter, Lowlands and Pukkelpop, and played sold-out shows at Paradiso, Ancienne Belgique and Lotto Arena, among others.
