A triple bill at De Koer featuring wildly shy, DIY art rock, “impro-fessional” rhythms, and atmospheric synths with Another Dancer, YLÏAM, and Solina Lapsus.

Another Dancer is outdated, wild at heart and elegantly shy. Carelessly schizophrenic, the Brussels DIY four-piece brings generous art rock, coloured by influences from four decades of the weirder sides of pop music. Two years after their debut album, they return with a scheme to trick your melancholia.

The Plot is a colourful, free-wheeling slab of free-form pop aimed at the third eye. Driven by influences from dub, indie rock, synth pop, and outsider folk, eleven scattered scenes are woven together with an abstract logic into a speculative whodunit. The end of a party, swift gestures, forgotten codes and low-lit highways move in and out of the frame: the listener has to find their own way through this collage of mise-en-scènes. By the end of the album, the puzzle remains unsolved; what exactly is The Plot?

About YLÏAM

YLÏAM is an audiovisual artist based in Brussels who combines image and sound in installations, video, and live performances; he is also active in the skateboard and zine scenes.

In a mountainous soundscape, the echo of a wailing guitar, found tapes, a Yamaha keyboard, and layers of voices reverberate. Inspired by the mantras recited at the funeral of their grandfather Albert Yaying Xu, a renowned acoustic musician, YLÏAM channels their Weltschmerz and everyday thoughts into spirals, unpolished pop choruses, and “impro-fessional” rhythms.

About Solina Lapsus

Solina Lapsus is the brolsynth/kraut improv band featuring ijf Boullet, Jan Laroy, and Dieter Durinck. By combining their individual talents and synthesizers, Solina Lapsus creates atmospheric and melodic sounds that are purely improvised, yet transformative. For this show, they will perform accompanied by visuals by German graphic artist Johann Kauth.
