What came first: rhythm or the body? In IWANTADIVORCE, we see two figures who have become trapped in a life simulation. Their days follow a strict rhythm: everything that is not necessary falls away, everything that remains must work. Their movements are precise, mechanical, without waste. Until their limbs start to falter.

Inspired by sleep deprivation, The Sims, push notifications, coffee bars, and their shared screen addiction, Lennert Van Nuffel and Indra Hauben explore what happens when the pace becomes too fast and the body chooses not to follow anymore. IWANTADIVORCE. is a physical, multilingual performance that investigates how the body becomes an instrument and what begins to shift when that body remembers a different rhythm.
