Known to the majority of the Flemish public for "These are the days..." resounding across the rolling hills of Brussels’ "Groene Rand" in Dertigers, but so much more than that. Inhaler is an indie rock band from Dublin that has been playing together since their school days. Singer and guitarist Elijah Hewson (son of U2 frontman Bono), bassist Robert Keating, guitarist Josh Jenkinson and drummer Ryan McMahon formed the band in 2012 at St Andrews College. What was originally intended as a school project was officially dubbed Inhaler in 2015.
The fact that one of them happens to be Bono's son is a plus, but Inhaler has long since proven that they can hold their own. Their debut album, It Won't Always Be Like This, was released in 2021 and catapulted them to large venues and festivals, including a slot at Glastonbury Festival and support shows for Kings of Leon. In 2023, they followed up with Cuts & Bruises, which reached number 1 in Ireland, and in early 2025 they released their third album, Open Wide. With each record, their sound has grown from a fresh promise to an established value within indie rock. They have become a fixture in arenas and packed festival fields, and we are as excited as lovestruck teenagers that they will soon be filling De Vooruit with their hopeful guitar riffs and melancholic vocals.
