A festive parade through the town.

Belgian artist Thomas Verstraeten creates large scale interventions in public space. In iGhent, he invites residents to join a ritual of reversal. Two reconstructed façades move through the city during Odegand in a festive procession, ultimately swapping places and revealing hidden connections between the historic center and its outskirts.

‘De Opstand van de Gevels – De Karavaan’ is a production by OBV and Gent Festival, VIERNULVIER, CAMPO, Kopergietery and NTGent, and is part of OdeGand.

The facades will be brought onto the stage at NTGent by Thomas Verstraeten following the festive parade, serving as the backdrop for a new musical theatre production, ‘De Opstand van de Gevels - De Opera’.
