With 4x4, we celebrate exciting creators and their creative process. Artists are given carte blanche to turn VIERNULVIER into their playground for an entire evening. Dive in the universe of Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe.

In this edition of 4x4, we dive into the artistic universe of performer, director, and singer Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe. After 10 years of performances, he brings together no less than 25 artists again, including Emiel Vandenberghe, Fumiyo Ikeda, Hanako Hayakawa, Birame, Sam Eves, Louise van den Eede, Simon Van Schuylenbergh, Micha Goldberg, ...

In the universe of Benjamin Abel Meirhaege, music, opera, dance, performance, and visual arts constantly intersect. Grand in imagination, generous in collaborations, with one foot in the repertoire and the other in the future.

This 4x4 consists of two parts.

20:00 - The evening begins with A RETROSPECT, where you move through three spaces. In the first space, Emiel Vandenberghe gives a ballet lesson for aliens, in the second you find, among others, Gosie Vervloesem in a cave with a campfire, and in the last space, you find the scenery workshop. In the Domzaal, 25 performers bring scenes from A Revue, Madrigals, A Rite of Spring, and Mantike back to life.

21:30 - The grand finale is AN EVENING WITH. Around 21:30, everyone gathers in the Balzaal where Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe invites various musicians for a grand revue in which they perform a song. A delightful clash of music, performance, and image, navigating between the legacy of opera and ballet and possible worlds of the future.
