Josefien Cornette

Josefien Cornette (They/Them) is an artist, writer and activist. Josefien has a multidisciplinary practice with a background in art history, feminism, queer studies and critical disability studies. Josefien was an editor for rekto:verso, where they co-coordinated the CRIP-issue, and head-editor of the SOTA Kin Arts Almanac 2023, and collaborated with Engagement Arts and the grass-roots organisation Cripping The Space. 


Today Josefien Cornette published their first book ‘Een Huis Dat Pijn Heet’ with Mammoet (EPO), a poetic analysis about death, disability and grief. They work as a maker of/for disability narratives in the arts within multiple media, inventing new artistic strategies to integrate disability as an aesthetic in the arts.
