Sara Leghissa

Artiest

open atelier

Location: Wintertuin, Timing: 12:00-18:00

Sara Leghissa is an independent artist based in Italy whose work embraces performing, making and curation and whose research arises from a need of connection and transformation with contexts and people.

Their artistic practice takes place mainly in public spaces, exploring power dynamics within them. Through a principle of ecology of resources, they use as much as possible of what is already available outdoor in the space. They create systems and devices that try to be mimetic with the context in which they occur for intercepting different audiences, using accessible technologies linked to the ordinary to convey images and contents.

They are inspired by the concept of “queer vandalism", described by Sara Ahmed as a principle that “those who act anomalously with respect to the norm are read as vandals and consequently can use and reclaim vandalistic action as a voluntary practice to disfigure and reconfigure the norm.”

In this open atelier, Sara invites you to discover her artistic practice in a fun, accessible way! You can make stickers, have copy printed on T-shirts, make posters,...
