Meet Daan, our finance coordinator!His main task is budget monitoring, but his role extends much further.

“For example, we have supported the project ‘Residu’ by Menzo & Eleonore, Use Knife, and Joshua Serafin.” He supports these artists. “That varies greatly, from giving advice to managing the budgets of a project. That is a very enjoyable aspect and also an important part of the sector.”
Daan's love for culture goes back to his childhood. “I grew up in a family that is active in the cultural sector. When I was little, I occasionally came to De Vooruit with my parents for theater performances.”

What challenges Daan the most in his role? “The versatility of VIERNULVIER!” he says enthusiastically. “Our house is a place where artistic creativity, hospitality, and heritage management come together. It is special to have a meeting about the financial aspects of the art institution one hour, and the next hour to be in a completely different setting discussing the café, for example about deals with brewers. That makes it really fun!”

Daan finds it special to be part of an ambitious team. "Although we all have our own specialization, we also work well together. There is a natural and smooth way of exchanging information. The team is very diverse; they are all different types of people, which makes us strong. That diversity and layering strengthen the team. We also have many technically strong profiles in the team, which I greatly appreciate. As a coordinator, that gives me a lot of peace and confidence."

Despite being able to attend fewer performances than he would like, Daan remains closely involved with the projects he works on. “I find it important to do that, so the connection remains. It means something to me to see those projects in action. I try to prioritize that in the program.”
After almost a year, Daan looks back enthusiastically on his role and the impact he can make. “I am incredibly happy after almost a year of working here and now noticing the impact I can have,” he says with conviction.
