The Parade

The Parade is a series of banners that highlights queer histories of opera and questions forms of cultural memory that often remain marginalized within dominant narratives. With the support of Manoeuvre Gent, the work was produced through a collective, hands-on creation process.
The project was first launched as a public procession through the streets of Ghent in the summer of 2020, accompanied by opera compositions, and was later installed at the Opera House, where it was on display during June 2021.
'The Parade' then traveled further and was exhibited in Cologne and at the Cavallerizza Reale in Turin, and is now presented at the VIERNULVIER café.
