Alexander himself manipulates them to the sounds of Ravel's famous piece on an oval table, taking the next step in his exploration of the relationship between performer and object.

In their own 'stairway to heaven', two dancers from Not Standing dissect all the notes of one of Luciano Berio's Sequenze on an endless staircase. Like a perpetual motion machine, the steps keep coming, and the dancers keep stepping upward, never reaching the top. Stairmaster is a fragment from the performance Sequenze that Alexander Vantournhout created in BOZAR in the spring of 2025, and is being restaged exclusively for the reopening of VIERNULVIER.
