Literary date on Tuesday nights

On Tuesday, November 25, Arno Van Vlierberghe, Melissa Giardina, and Charlotte Remarque will be joining presenter Ruth Joos. Together, they will discuss three books, carefully selected by our editorial team.

Sarah Arnolds - 'Het gore lef'

In the collection of stories 'Het gore lef', Sarah Arnolds pays tribute to the art of lying. Lying to escape the truth. With this debut, Arnolds demonstrates her considerable talent through precisely written stories.

"The stories of Sarah Arnolds are incredibly good. Heartbreaking and gentle, deadpan yet full of mystery. They calmly but purposefully enter your mind, and don’t leave for a while. It's hard to believe this is a debut; each story hits the mark." – Rob van Essen

Barbi Marković - 'Minihorror'

'Minihorror' is a book about the horror of the perfect family breakfast, about bullying in the workplace, about social inequality, and about what it means to belong somewhere. In a completely original, razor-sharp style, Barbi Marković brings nightmares to life and shows what a nightmare daily life can be.

"Despite the overwhelming sense of discomfort and the graphic violence, horror has rarely been so cheerful." – The Guardian

Mira Feticu - 'Gewone Hollandse jongens'

Poetic, provocative, and heartbreaking. In 'Gewone Hollandse ', Mira Feticu centers on skin hunger after the death of a loved one. A tumultuous, sensual novella in which she powerfully shatters taboos. Rightfully on the shortlist for the 2025 Book Week Gift.

"Mira Feticu describes without taboos how intensely raw grief can be. Like a suffocating fever dream that you won’t forget quickly." – Rik van de Westelaken
