The Fiery Furnaces, the long-running collaboration between siblings Eleanor and Matthew Friedberger, reconvene for a number of performances as a pared-down duo.

Renowned for their dense, allusive lyrics and formally inventive compositions, the band occupies a singular space in the landscape of experimental pop. No despisers of sentimentality, this reunion is however less a nostalgic reprise than a continuation of their interrogation of song form, song culture, storytelling, and memory.

Formed in New York City in 2000, The Fiery Furnaces were signed to Rough Trade Records and released eight critically acclaimed albums between 2003 and 2009, all while touring extensively throughout North America, Europe and Australia. Select performances include Radio City Music Hall (2004), All Tomorrow’s Parties (2004, 2006, 2010), Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival (2005), Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival (2008), Primavera Sound Barcelona (2010), Pitchfork Music Festival Chicago (2021), Le Guess Who? (2025).

Last year the band reissued their seminal album Blueberry Boat as a limited edition deluxe gatefold 2LP with bonus track “Far Away”.  This year marks the 20th anniversary of their album Bitter Tea and the band are celebrating it with a first ever cassette edition.  They plan to continue reimagining, reworking, and adding to their repertoire, both live and as part of a new series of recordings called “Σκίτσα” (Sketches).
