Stroom invites Sergeant and OKO DJ. Sergeant sweeps you into a whirlwind of whimsical sound collages, where post-punk and plunderphonics chaos explode into ever-changing forms. OKO DJ expands the sonic universe of the night even further with her mix of experimental dub, 90s rock, industrial folk and everything in between.

Expect an evening that tilts, surprises and sucks you in without mercy.

About Sergeant
Sergeant makes music like editing an erratic film: cutting, splicing, and reassembling sounds into a whirlwind of unexpected turns. The trio - filmmaker/composer Benjamin Cools, search-singing actor Ferre Marnef, and sonic angel Geraldine Vanspauwen – strike a delicate balance between post-punk’s jagged edges, krautrock’s relentless drive, and an unpredictable pop energy that keeps your heart racing.

Their sound is a plundering phonic mess of fractured rhythms and clashing textures: always on the move, never in balance. It’s like The Avalanches throwing a party with pagan whistles, distorted bells, and dubby basslines. Flutes squawk as if they’re trying to outrun the beat, and melodies splinter into chaotic joyrides.

Live, Sergeant stretches their music to experimental heights, pushing songs into a fever pitch, scrambling them into something even more untamed. The room fills with foolish critique, a controlled stumble, a sound that keeps running even when it’s lost track of where it’s headed.

Stroom invites you to become an effervescent tablet in a vodka-soda —fizzy, intoxicating, and brutally honest.

Ritualistic whistling accompanies Ferre Marnef's expressive and unpolished singing, while repetitive rhythms propel the whole thing forward. A hectic and chaotic mix that references the big city in which Sergeant is based: Brussels.

About OKO DJ
Athens-based OKO DJ, also known as Marine Tordjemann, has a well-earned reputation as one of the most progressive and genre-expanding selectors on the scene. Her sets weave the strange and the delightful into dance experiences that explore all extremes.

As a producer, OKO DJ is a master at channeling the energies and forces that surround us with an effortless flair, frolicking somewhere in the experimental field of “dub-90s rock-spoken word-industrial folk.” Her debut album will be released on the Stroom label in October 2025. Tender, unsettling, cathartic, and refreshingly unpredictable, OKO DJ is definitely an artist to keep an eye on.
