Arts center VIERNULVIER receives 350,000 visitors annually for theater, debates, concerts, spoken word, talks, performances, dance, nightlife, and literature. The VIERNULVIER Café, located in De Vooruit, serves as a central meeting place. VIERNULVIER presents its programme both inside and outside De Vooruit.
Arts center VIERNULVIER is looking for a housekeeping staff member to strengthen the team on Saturdays and/or Mondays. Start is planned for September 2025.
As a member of the housekeeping team, you are responsible for the cleaning and tidiness of De Vooruit, a protected monument. Additionally, you provide support with several logistical tasks.
What are your main tasks?
- You, along with your other housekeeping colleagues, are responsible for the daily cleaning tasks.
- The cleaning tasks follow a daily and monthly schedule and vary depending on the events taking place. Think of: cleaning the Concert Hall and/or Ballroom after a nightlife event, cleaning the VIERNULVIER Café, meeting rooms, and offices, keeping the entrance hall clean, and so on.
- You handle cleaning products in a correct and safe manner.
- You assist with logistical tasks: helping to set up the room (arranging chairs and tables), moving materials, and so on.
- You are supported by your colleagues, the coordinator of the housekeeping team, and the facility coordinator, who guides the tasks on the work floor.
Who are we looking for?
- You can work under a student contract or a flexi contract.
- You can start in September 2025.
- You have gained experience in cleaning/housekeeping.
- You enjoy being on the work floor.
- You do not like to sit still and enjoy a physical job.
- You work neatly and take satisfaction in the results of your work.
- You are willing to work on weekends (starting at 6 AM) and weekdays between 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM is a good match for you.

- You will be invited for an interview that lasts maximum 30 minutes. This is a conversation with Cindy, the coordinator of the housekeeping team, and Seline, the HR colleague. In this introductory conversation, we will assess your motivation, experience, and knowledge, as well as your fit for the position. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to ask all your questions.
- If you are a good fit for the position, you will have the chance to shadow a colleague for a day to get to know the workplace and the job content so that we can assess together whether the job is really for you.
