'pivot rotations' compiles two years of tape-loop performances by Pieter Dudal (Dauw) and Adriaan de Roover (Fog Mountain, Dauw, Consouling). Recorded live during concerts in Brussels, Ghent and at the Meakusma Festival, the album is a slowly revolving constellation of layered loops, analogue imperfections and warm sound textures.
The pieces move patiently and organically: clocks that fold back on themselves, tape machines that breathe, and a soundscape that is both soothing and slightly unsettling. The result is a study in time, chance and texture, in the spirit of musicians such as William Basinski and Cristina Vantzou.
About dudal & de Roover
Belgian musicians Pieter dudal and Adriaan de Roover explore the tactile, ritualized artistry of tape loops, where every gesture — mounting, shifting, and layering tapes — shapes the evolving sound. Their practice has been refined through live performances at Meakusma Festival and residencies at Kunstencentrum VIERNULVIER, Ancienne Belgique and Volta, combining acoustic and electronic sources into immersive soundscapes that unfold with both careful craft and organic growth.
Adriaan de Roover, based in Brussels, has been forging a singular path in experimental electronic music for over a decade, with releases on labels including [PIAS], Dauw, Consouling, and Fog Mountain. He is also an experienced collaborator, installation artist, and composer of commissioned scores, most recently for a fashion exhibit by Milk of Lime (DE) and a 4DSOUND project co-produced by STUK Leuven and MONOM. His latest album, 'Other Rooms' (Dauw), has been praised by Bandcamp, HHV, and The Vinyl Factory.
