VIERNULVIER is looking for a housekeeping staff member (part-time: 80 per cent)

As a member of the housekeeping team, you help ensure to keep De Vooruit clean, a protected monument. You also provide support with various logistical tasks.

Kunstencentrum VIERNULVIER welcomes 350,000 visitors each year for theatre, debates, concerts, spoken word, talks, performance, dance, nightlife and literature. The VIERNULVIER Café, located in De Vooruit, serves as the central meeting place. VIERNULVIER presents its programme both inside and outside De Vooruit.

Kunstencentrum VIERNULVIER is looking for two housekeeping staff members to strengthen the team.

What are your main responsibilities?

  • Together with your housekeeping colleagues, you are responsible for daily cleaning tasks.
  • These tasks follow a daily and monthly schedule and vary depending on the events taking place in the building. Examples include cleaning the Concert Hall and/or Ballroom after a nightlife event, cleaning the VIERNULVIER Café, meeting rooms and offices, and keeping the entrance hall tidy.
  • You use cleaning products and equipment (including a scrubber-dryer machine) correctly and safely.
  • You report defects and communicate stock shortages in a timely manner.
  • You will also be asked to assist with logistical tasks, such as setting up rooms (arranging chairs and tables) and moving equipment.
  • You are supported by your colleagues, the housekeeping team coordinator and the facility coordinator, who oversee and guide the work on site.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have relevant experience in cleaning or housekeeping.
  • You enjoy hands-on work.
  • You like to stay active and appreciate a physically engaging job.
  • You work neatly and take satisfaction in delivering quality results.
  • You are willing to work weekends in a rotating schedule, with a minimum of two weekend days per month. Starting at 6 a.m. is no problem for you.
  • The working language on the work floor is Dutch. You don’t have to be a native speaker, but sufficient language proficiency (basic user, A1/A2: beginner) is important for good collaboration.

  • A 4/5 permanent contract. Full-time employment is also negotiable.
  • Salary according to PC 304 – Performing Arts, scale C. Relevant experience will be taken into account.

What can you expect from the application process?

  • You will be invited for an interview of up to 30 minutes with Cindy, the housekeeping team coordinator, Kevin, the facility coördinator and Seline from HR. This introductory conversation will explore your motivation, experience and knowledge, as well as your match with the role. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
  • If we believe you are a good fit for the position, you will be invited for a trial day with one of the team members to get to know the workplace and the job itself. This helps us and you determine whether the role truly suits you.
  • After this trial day, a final decision is made, and who knows, you might become our new colleague!
