"With the Timewalker you will browse through the fantastic history of De Vooruit. You'll discover unique images about the building, Vooruit's social commitment and highlights from the artistic program: rehearsal footage of 'Ten Oorlog', Nirvana's iconic concert, the first hole bifos, I Love Techno,... The Timewalker is not only a history of Vooruit: many will especially find their own youth in it."

Franky Devos, general coordinator Kunstencentrum VIERNULVIER

The Timewalker contains a unique selection of photos and videos from archives of VRT and AVS, among others. But also recordings of unique performances, newspaper articles, old posters and other curiosities from the archives of Amsab and Erfgoed Vlaanderen.

Visitors to De Vooruit and tourists can discover the history of the building and the Arts Center on their own, free of charge, during De Vooruit's opening hours. Vooruit provides guided tours of the building, also tailored to families with children. Those who take one of these tours can try out the Timewalker.

The Timewalker is a concept by Dift, was executed by Ocular and was realized with the support of the Flemish Community as part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage and the province of East Flanders. Commissioner for Heritage Annemie Charlier officially inaugurated the Timewalker.
