OPENBARE WERKEN 2021

An artistic journey of discovery in our neighbourhood

OPENBARE WERKEN (‘public works’) is an artistic journey of discovery where we connect artists and their work with the city and its inhabitants. For this second edition, Voo?uit and curators Marieke De Munck and Elly Van Eeghem will once again install artistic works in the public and (semi-)private space in and around Ghent's South district – Voo?uit’s backyard, practically. In this way we aim to start a discussion about the public domain and the line between private and public. With OPENBARE WERKEN, Voo?uit is moving the spotlights from the front of the building to the back.

Want to discover it for yourself? Come and experience the fantastic neighbourhood walk Expeditie ZUID, Six Impossible Things Before Breakfast, Ciné Kinship van The Post Film Collective, ATLAS en voorstellingen van Simon Allemeersch, K7, Ingri Fiksdal, Frederik Floen & Mariama Fatou Kally Slåttøy, N.E.S.H.A.A., Sara Leghissa, en Elly Van Eeghem. OPENBARE WERKEN is a must for the adventurous culture vulture!
