OPEN CALL: LOOKING FOR A YOUTH CHOIR FOR PERFORMANCE FRANCESCA GRILLI
Multidisciplinary artist Francesca Grilli will create the performance RECORD, together with a choir of youngsters.
Based on the stories of a hikikomori and a stunt woman, Francesca Grilli will create a performance about the of life of adolescents – an age balanced between the desire to throw oneself into life and the desire to withdraw from it.
Would you like to participate in the project as a member of the choir of youngsters? You will share the stage with a small group of 8 singers.
Who?
You are between 16 and 22 years old. You have some singing and possibly choir experience.
You’re available to participate in the rehearsals in Brussels and Ghent, and to perform in the shows in Brussels, Bruges and Ghent.
Performers will be selected on the basis of their qualities and skills, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, origin, religion, age or disability. We encourage youngsters from underrepresented backgrounds to take part.
When?
Rehearsals (schedule will be refined later)
Some evenings in the period of 13 until 24 December 2022 at Kaaistudio’s (Brussels)
From 4 until 15 April 2023 at VIERNULVIER (Ghent) (school holidays)
Shows
In the fall of 2023 at Kaaitheater (Brussels), KAAP (Bruges) and VIERNULVIER (Ghent)
The rehearsals are unpaid. For the shows, you will receive a volunteer fee of 35 euro for the general rehearsal day + 35 euro for the presentation. All travels will be reimbursed.
