In reaction to the recent improvisations of our longtime collaborator, the weather, we will have to postpone our upcoming landing this Friday May 15 & Saturday May 16 at de Koer.

Due to the effect of rain or wind on humanbeans, we won’t be able to bring to life the experience we were planning.
We have already been gently parasiting de Koer for quite a while, so we are still eager to share these traces with you another time soon.

Nonetheless we strongly encourage you to wander through BOM festival, that turns the Brugse Poort neighborhood into one big showcase parcours.
And, we’ll be seeing you soon at Museum Dr. Guislain during Psychojazz. More info about that here.

For three weeks, the teleported beings of Spa for Spirits* will take up residence at de Koer.

They build islands using whatever the site offers them:
Foraged objects evolve into strange tools.
Herbs from the garden give color to textiles.
Wild yeasts and microbes are captured.
The oven glows.

On May 15 and 16, The Landscape opens to the general public during the BOM festival!

Wander among installations, taste unexpected creations, and join in small rituals where the senses and imagination run away with the mind.

about Spa for Spirits

Since 2021, performers Leonie Buysse and Lili Sels VanBavaertshave led Spa for Spirits — a wellness center inhabited by otherworldly creatures. Together with artists and experts from various artistic and life domains, they create interactive installations and performances, where individual art practices interweave through collective play, exploration, and wonder.

Participants are invited to step beyond the ordinary and embrace new ways of seeing, thinking, and being by rediscovering everyday activities, loosening them from their monotonous rusty patterns. The peculiar rituals that emerge from this process aim to ground participants in their bodies, reawaken the senses, and grow a more conscious engagement with their surroundings.

By occupying semi-public spaces, we disrupt and queer them from their usual identity and function: a transformative process that engages an unexpected mix of participants—local residents, curious passersby, and communities. Through these collective artistic, sensory-rich, and often non-verbal explorations, the otherworldly hosts of Spa for Spirits strive to reconnect humanity with its fundamental needs.
