Left Waves: Ana Roxanne

Left Waves gives a stage to artists experimenting around ambient and electronic music. After previous shows with Lucrecia Dalt and Merope, this time it is Ana Roxanne's turn! 

American producer Ana Roxanne is perhaps the ambient revelation of recent years. She first made herself heard with her esoteric ep '~~~' . Her subdued and layered ambient made a deep impression. She was immediately invited to perform at renowned festivals such as Dekmantel, Pitchfork Music Festival and Le Guess Who.

Top British label Kranky (Tim Hecker, Grouper) immediately enlisted her to release the follow-up 'Because of a Flower'. This album was also received with open arms by the music press: Pitchfork (8/10), Indiestyle (****), The Quietus (8/10), ... We hear soft harmonies and ambient soundscapes reminiscent of the best of Grouper and Julia Holter. Also the dream pop of Julianna Barwick, Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil and Dead Can Dance is never far away. 

No better venue than the beautiful, large church hall of Kunsthal Gent to do her music justice!
