In ‘CASCADE’, Meg Stuart and seven dancers search for ways to resist the ravages of time. In complex rhythms and structures, they propel their bodies and imaginations into a different reality, where the inevitable is remembered. Teetering on the edge of uncertainty, the dancers wonder what kind of dream they have to give up in order to keep dreaming, what kind of body they need to keep going.
‘CASCADE’ is a free fall into the maelstrom of time and a surrender to the elusive Other. This show marks Philippe Quesne’s first collaboration with Meg Stuart / Damaged Goods as a scenographer. Brendan Dougherty composed the music, which is performed live by two drummers.
“Meg Stuart has been making groundbreaking dance theatre for thirty years, but every time you get the feeling: I ain’t seen nothing yet”
