Bezoek aan CAMPUS Atelier
-
Fri 29.0416:30 - 18:00Locatie
On Friday, 29 April, we will visit Campus Atelier.
Campus Atelier is an open design studio for the public space in Ghent’s Nieuw Gent neighbourhood. Around this area is a university campus, a hospital campus and a school campus. But the original meaning of “campus” is “field” or “open space”. The studio was founded in 2017 by artist Elly Van Eeghem for those green spaces in and around the neighbourhood.
Campus Atelier builds public spaces: a pavilion in the park, a bench in the neighbourhood square, a shady spot for the allotments, a stage on the wastelands ...With local residents as creators, designers, builders or users. By involving different people in ideation, design, creation and use, the studio seeks out new social dynamics and shared locations.
They do this from their open workshop, open-air construction projects and neighbourhood walks. In the coming years, Campus Atelier will also work on small-scale interventions in the area around the Watersportbaan.
