schntzl is the name of the versatile twosome Hendrik Lasure (piano & electronics) and Casper Van De Velde (drums & electronics). In 2016 they released their self-titled debut album, followed by the EP ‘paper, wind’ in 2018. Just before the 2020 pandemic, these cool cats released their latest album ‘Catwalk’. What to expect? Personified pop songs typified by schntzl’s open approach, musical humour and storytelling power.
The album was recorded in the studio of Koen Gisen (also known as the third schntzl or the hat of the isosceles triangle) and got a lot of four-star reviews.
Lucas Schreel was invited by schntzl to join them as support.
Support: Lucas Schreel solo
Lucas Schreel is a classically trained guitarist based in Brussels. His first solo album ‘We’re never afraid of getting up every morning’ held a well-received press. Besides his solo work, he is also a member of Schreel Van De Velde, a new instrumental duo project with percussionist Casper Van De Velde of schntzl. Their debut ‘Balts’ was released last year.
For this occasion Lucas will be performing some instrumental songs from both records, as well as some new unreleased work. Expect some cinematic and poetic fingerpicking tunes.
